Chocolate Almond Souffles

So simple to make! Who would have thought you could conquer a 5 - star restaurants dish!


1/3 cup milk

1 cup sugar, divided

3 egg whites

3 egg yolks

3 oz unsweetened chocolate

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

powdered sugar for garnish


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. On stovetop, dissolve 1/2 cup sugar in milk over low heat

3. Add chocolate stirring constantly until smooth, set aside to cool

4. Beat egg whites until foamy about 2-3 minutes

5. Add sugar and almond extract, continue beating about 5 minutes until stiff (will look like cool whip)

6. In a large bowl combine egg yolks and chocolate mixture, whisk until smooth

7. Add egg whites to mixture and whisk until combined

8. Fill 5 greased ramekins (or small glass dishes) with batter

9. Place on cookie sheet and bake 20 - 30 minutes until puffy

10. Garnish with powdered sugar, serve immediately
