Rolls with Roasted Garlic

Warning: This will fill your house with the most delicious aroma!

 

olive oil

3 heads garlic

butter

salt and pepper

8-10 rolls of your choice

 

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees

2. Peel paper off of garlic heads, trim the top 1/4 off to expose cloves

3. Drizzle each head with olive oil (making sure it seeps into the cloves)

4. Cover with foil, bake for 1 hour

5. Bake rolls according to package directions

6. Cut rolls in half, spread each half with butter and 1 garlic clove, top with salt and pepper

 

 

Slow Cooked Apple Butter

This method is much better than the stove/oven because you don't have to babysit (or even be home). Athough it takes 8 hours, it is well worth it! Wait until you smell the aroma in your home :)

 

8 apples (cored, peeled, and chopped) I use a variety for a better taste

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 teaspoons cinnamon

 

1. Place apples in crock pot on high heat for 3 hours, stirring every hour

2. Whisk apples until it resembles applesauce

3. Add remainder of ingredients, whisking until combined

4. Cook on low heat for 4 more hours, whisking when possible

5. Remove cover from crock pot for final hour to evaprate excess liquid

6. Store in jars or container in refrigerator without cap for 1 hour

7. Cover and keep refrigerated

8. Great on biscuits, toast, bagels and english muffins
